Wheats, Treats and a Legoman - Newnham Farm Eco Trip
When you hear the word farm, what comes to mind? Sheep? Potatoes? A cow or two? Well, Newnham Farm was a little different to your stereotypical field.
The farm is like a giant science lab (without the sanitisers and white walls), featuring a variety of plants not typically seen in the UK, showcasing independence and self-sufficiency. The farmers were kind, offering many free snacks and stationery.
They grew so much wheat that it was surprising they didn't have a contract with Weetabix. At Newham Farm, there were giant tractors, fertilisers with a 36-metre wingspan, and enormous plants. Quizzes and prizes kept everyone entertained as well. Throughout the adventure, photos of Legomen were taken at specific sites. Additionally, they saw the world’s largest loaf of bread. The experience provided valuable insights into farming and plant care.
Hopefully, more farms can be visited next year!
