KEY DATES (2023-2024)

Options Evening will take place on the Thursday 29 February 2024. The event will offer our students and their parents and carers the opportunity to explore the subjects on offer and ask questions of our subject teachers. 

  • 8 March - Deadline for students to log into the 'Options Online' portal and make choices. Portal closed to students
  • 8 March to 28 March 2024 - One to one meetings.
  • Early May - Options offers posted to students and parents.

Key Stage 4 subjects and choices

The options process is a very important one for year 8 students. In total, students will get to choose 4 subjects to study at Key Stage 4.

Compulsory Subjects

All students will be required to study the following:

Optional Subjects:

Students get to choose 4 subjects.

There are two option blocks which they must choose from -

  1. Humanities (1 subject)
  2. Open Choice (3 subjects)

Option Block 1- Humanities:

All students are required to choose 1 subject from the Humanities block (and 1 reserve).

Option Block 2 - Open Choice:

All students will need to choose 3 subjects from the Open Choice block (and 2 reserves).
