AIMS
To help young people to:
Assess, develop, and practise the skills they need to investigate opportunities, plan ahead, make and evaluate decisions and transitions Identify and build on their personal and career interests, employability skills, work values and learning styles Clarify their ideas about the future.

Activities
ACTIVITIES WITHIN TUTORIALS, PSHE AND CURRICULUM TIME
Assessing and recording skills, qualities performance and achievement by creating a personal profile
- Setting goals and targets to improve chances of success
- Developing self-help skills such as negotiating ground rules for group work, negotiating and fulfilling roles in a group activity, reviewing and learning from transitions or making individual learning plans
- Finding out about the world of work e.g. history of the labour market, exploring the concept of career and career patterns or identifying learning pathways
- Finding and using other careers resources to investigate careers
- Participating in and using individual and group guidance
- Exploring different images of learning and work and the people involved
- Preparing for change and the choices to be made for Year 9
