Black History Month Celebrations
To celebrate Black History Month this October, students at AVA are invited to participate in a variety of ways:
- Wednesdays: African/Caribbean Lunch & Music
- Staff and Student Assemblies
- Form Competitions: Testing Knowledge & Creativity
- National BHM Poetry Competition
Year Group - Country Focus
Form groups have also been invited to create creative artwork for their classroom doors to celebrate culture and heritage. Every year group has a unique country to focus on:
- Year 7 - Ghana
- Year 8 - Jamaica
- Year 9 - Uganda
- Year 10 - Nigeria
- Year 11- South Africa
- Sixth Form - Zimbabwe
Prizes to be won! Judging takes place on the 13th October.
