MK Dons Game Visit
On Saturday 29 April 26 students from Aylesbury Vale Academy went to watch the penultimate game of the season at the Stadium:MK.
This was an amazing experience and opportunity for those students to see some thrilling League One football as the MK Dons battle to remain in the division.
After a lacklustre first half saw them trailing 1-0 at the break, a penalty early in the second half (so early that some AVA students nearly missed it while they were queueing for burgers!) pulled the Dons level. That goal opened the floodgates to a flurry of second half goals, with the home side racing in to a 4-1 lead. Despite opening a convincing gap between themselves and play-off chasing Barnsley, the visitors scored three goals in the last 17 minutes to claw it back to 4-4 and secure a point.
MK Dons head in to Sunday’s final round of fixtures level on points with 21st placed Morecambe, but the local side’s superior goal difference means that matching Morecambe’s result would all but guarantee their safety.
