An Unforgettable Ski Adventure in Bormio, Italy
This February half-term, AVA students embarked on an incredible seven-day skiing trip to Bormio, Italy—an adventure filled with skiing, fun, and unforgettable experiences. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Italian Alps, this trip was an opportunity for students to challenge themselves, bond with friends, and embrace new experiences on and off the slopes.
Embracing the Slopes
Over the course of the week, students of all skill levels—from beginners to advanced skiers—took on a variety of runs, pushing their limits and honing their skiing techniques. The well-maintained slopes and stunning alpine scenery provided the perfect setting for an exciting and rewarding experience. Each day on the mountain brought new challenges and achievements, with students showing determination, progress, and an eagerness to improve.
Beyond Skiing: Adventure and Culture
While skiing was at the heart of the trip, our itinerary was packed with additional activities to ensure a well-rounded and enjoyable experience. One of the highlights was an evening visit to a family-friendly spa, where students relaxed and unwound after a long day on the slopes. A pizza night at a local restaurant was another memorable experience, allowing students to savour authentic Italian cuisine and immerse themselves in the local culture.
To add to the winter fun, students also enjoyed ice skating, which quickly became a favourite activity. Evenings were filled with film and game nights, providing the perfect opportunity to relax, share stories, and strengthen friendships.

Throughout the trip, our students exemplified the values of AVA—resilience, respect, and aspiration. Their positive attitudes, good sportsmanship, and willingness to support one another were evident in every aspect of the experience. They truly represented our school with pride, making this trip not only a success but also a reflection of their outstanding character.
More Than Just a Ski Trip
Beyond the slopes and activities, this trip was about personal growth, teamwork, and creating lifelong memories. The bonds formed, challenges overcome, and experiences shared will stay with our students for years to come.
