Aylesbury Vale Academy was opened in September 2009 and moved onto the Berryfields housing development in September 2013. At this point, the Academy incorporated Berryfields Church of England Primary School and became an all-through school with an age range from pre-school to 18 years.
Aylesbury Vale Academy is a Church of England Academy, sponsored by the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education.
The Oxford Diocesan Board of Education currently operates in 283 schools across Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, including 62 schools within Buckinghamshire. It ensures that the Academy is both inclusive and distinctive and reflects the Church’s commitment to ensuring the best possible education for children and young people.
Aylesbury Vale Academy is a company limited by guarantee and its governing documents are its Memorandum and Articles of Association; together with a funding agreement it has with the Secretary of State for Education.
The Academy is governed by its Governing Board, which comprises up to nine persons appointed by the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education, two persons appointed by Buckinghamshire Council, the Academy Principal, a staff governor, a parent governor and up to four persons co-opted by the governing body.
